About Sowing and Reaping

Sow a thought, and you reap an act;
Sow an act, and you reap a habit;
Sow a habit, and you reap a character;
Sow a character, and you reap a destiny

Sober Up!

It was a sobering sermon.

Live a righteous life for HE is holy
Allow God to deal with your darkest sin

It's not in the doing, it's in the living
You can be busy with the most happening church program but God's presence is ABSENT!

God is tearing down the god of mammon
The shaking will continue and believers will not be spared

>>> Fear of God.....increase within me!
>>> Get out of unit trusts and stocks!

For What is Ahead...

I shall add to you many friends in the year to come.

Saya: WHat for?

Isa 40:4-5 The Sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue, that I should know how to speak a word in season that sustains the weary. He awakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught. The Sovereign Lord has opened my ears, and I have not been rebellious; I have not drawn back

Saya: I shall Ps 27:14 Wait for the Lord; Be Strong and let my heart take courage; Yes, I shall wait for the Lord

Stan Chart Marathon

Being there really makes me wanna run too.....and not just be a spectator looking out for the 'POWERED BY JESUS' team come thru the finishing line.

But that means I gotta start training a year ahead....hahaaa.....and there's even a no-show penalty. So at the end of the day....the plan is likely to be shelved once again.

The MC made attempts to spur the runners on....'U don't walk in the last 50m leading to the finishing line'. Aiya....but most of the runners also tidak apa la......aiyo.....in utter pain lei >_<

Peace Haven

My regret....not setting aside time to exprience the fullness of the view from Peace Haven.

My captivation...Exo3:3-4 And Moses said, I will now  turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burned. And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the midst of the bush and said, Moses, Moses! And he said, Here am I.

My revelation...You can get a taxi ticket to avoid being charged astronomical cab fare. So we paid RM8 from Times Square to Petaling Street! Awesome!

'Hearts on Fire' camp went by in a whiff. I knew I lacked the courage to go deeper with the kids.....and yet again, I gotta continue to work on my patience and keeping my cool when the heat is on.

What a Blast!

Spent the Deepavali weekend in KL, Balakong.
Who would have imagined tonnes of fireworks blasting all over the neighbourhood to greet the break of Diwali?!!! Yeah...yeah....the 'sua-ku' Singaporean in me was almost blown away! But what a sleepless experience...heheee!

Hey.....the 15min MINES river cruise turned out quite pleasant. If i had more time, I'll go for the longer cruise too. VERY man-made....Neat though!

When in Karachi...

Keep your baggage tag sticker issued at the check-in counter within easy reach.....don't lose it! Airport security will check that your sticker is the same as that tagged to your physical luggage before u exit from airport. Wear track pants...not shorts....if u wanna work out in the gym. No one is in shorts or revealing attire!

Remember to lock your car door. It's not automatically locked.

The malls there are not exactly interesting.....and the carpets......their motifs are very similar from shop to shop.

The beach is quite a sight to behold....u could hardly make out where the horizon is.....I can't explain it.....beach and horizon is a murky blend. The tide was real low so u can walk very far out to sea.....don't expect clear blue water. There are camel rides too by the beach!

Pray Ps91....so even if you stay in Marriott, u'll be fine...heheee......2 days after I left Karachi, a bomb blast went off at the Marriott in Islamabab! DAD, heal this land!

Typhoon Sinlaku

Got up close and personal with Sinlaku.
Apparently, my flight out of Taipei at 2:20pm today was the last confirmed flight. Passengers from the next S'pore bound flight packed into the 2:20pm flight as well.
For a start, i was simply preoccupied with praying for myself to escape from being trapped in a typhoon in a foreign land. But after a while, I stopped in my tracks and started praying for the locals. Broadcasting over the news were farmers desperately trying to salvage their crops before the eye of the storm hits. The papers also reported how meat and vegetable prices will inflate after the typhoon.
Yet another reminder to quit this self-centered attitude of mine :o(

Colmar Tropicale

Entrance Fee : RM16 for adults, RM8 for kids between 4-12yrs. Apparently, it's FOC after 7pm.

It was an arduous climb for the old chitty-chitty-bang-bang Bas Sekolah we chartered...heheee:) But DAD saw us thru the entire journey without any breakdowns! The road is not as winding or steep as Genting.

The place is charming, picturesque but small. Climate wasn't exactly cool....but definitely less humid.

Given the condition of the bus....we didn't make it to the botanical garden and Japanese tea house....or rather...we didn't venture. We were told the road leading there is a 45deg ascent. So....this is not the end....I will return!

O yeah...the rabbit farm! You get to feed wabbits that roam freely in the boundaries of the compound. Refreshing..hehee....to see them with the liberty to hop around instead of being caged up.

KLCC Garden

Wow! It's the 1st time I'm here in the garden.

Kindda reminds me of Hong Kong Park at Central with a backdrop of skyscrapers. Lurve this place. Waited in vain for a fountain show which we thot will show up at 8pm....but the reflection of the twin towers in the landscaped pond was awesome!

The kids had a blast at the fountain pool! Shuts at 7.30pm though.

Tried to flag for a cab out of KLCC but all of them refuse to turn on the meters....well, it's Saturday nite 8pm. Almost every one of them quoted RM20 to get to chinatown from there. The sign outside KLCC reads something to the effect of : SAY NO TO TOUTING TAXIS. So obey it... and just take the LRT lor...kekeke

Marketplace?

Beginning to wonder..
My place in HIM in the marketplace
Memories of EJ's comments flashes thru my mind
'What if it REALLY IS the marketplace??'
I struggle to accept that
My puny brain rejects it

Learning to surrender to HIS perfect plans
Agreeing that HIS ways are higher than mine
I see HIM paving the way, extending my tents in the marketplace
Be it unto me according to HIS word
Not my will but HIS be done!

Project Rebuild Closure

Project Rebuild has officially come to an end... submitted my last renovation payment today.

The kitchen is ooOOO.....so charming! The pebblestone pathway is BL's bright idea....a little too contrasting with the ceramic white tiles...but I LURVE it anyhow.
The workmanship could be better....but I had a pleasant experience throughout the entire process...and that overrules everything else.

And now, for the soft touches....O God help me with the decor that would bring out Your warmth and make this Your dwelling place!!!

Open Door

God saw the yearning of my heart and at last, HE opened the door for me!

Miraculously, B wasn't rushing to his next appointment. So I suggested that we go for a drink. As we snacked on soon kueh and cheng teng, our conversation somehow led to the subject matter that i've longed to bring up. And boy....does he have a story to tell!!! I was deeply captivated as he shared on his encounter of divine healing thru K. WOW!!! But he's still not ready to give up idolatry worship...well, cuz he perceived his help came from this idolatrous source during the darkest moments of his career.

DAD!!! Hear my plea....open up the blind eyes and unlock the deaf ears!!!

Project Rebuild

Went choosing tiles today for the kitchen floor, wall between the kitchen cabinets, bathroom, toilet.
BL's opinion had a strong influence over the choices I made.
He had a clear understanding of what country style means. And decision had to be made around practical maintenance and aesthetics.
Realised that I had to view a couple of tiles pieced together to visualize what the end result would be. That truly saved me from a bad decision....*phew*

Reno permit will be submitted tomorrow. Demolition kicks off on 12may08!

I submit this project to the Potter's Hands! Take over every detail, DAD! YOU're the overseer! Watch over the builders, planners, everyone who's involved. Reveal YOURSELF to them!

Time to Move On

In Feb08, DAD said to me it was time to move on.....in more than 1 area I believe, including the job front. PSP interpreted it to mean 'move out of comfort zone'. No dispute about it!

For a start, i'll be moving to another neighbourhood sometime after Jun08. What else and what's next? Mmm..beats me! But during 19apr08's service, I saw myself opening the door. The door that no man can shut, the door that leads to a turning point. Where's this door moving me to? Mmmm....it shall unfold in due time.

Incidentally, many missionary friends are also moving on this year to yet another land.
Hs -> out of US to....
BS -> out of SG to SA
PGW -> out of SL to....

Gosh.....this IS the flow of the river....it's heightening up to a gigantic wave. Hahaaa.....enjoy the surf, kid ^o^!

Ho Chi Minh - Cabs

Most of them run by the meters...avoid those that don't...they are ready to rip u off!
7-seater cabs can readily be flagged off the road and the charges are the same as the 4 seaters!
Cab fares are way cheaper than S'pore!! Payment is in VND.

Saigon Square - Ho Chi Minh

Sells lotsa wind breakers, bagpacks, bermudas, Kipling wallets. Bought a Vaude Atlanta sling bag at 150,000VND ....yah...yah... not exactly dirt cheap >o< Sigh...aint much of a bargainer!
It's about 10mins walk from Ben Thanh night market where we had dinner for 2 nights. Cheap, good food! Had prawns, clams, beef, omelette, squid, spring rolls, BBQ pork, sour sop drinks. Each of us paid only 54,000VND!

Hanoi - Fundamentals

  • CURRENCY
1SGD = 10,400 VND
1USD = 15,500 VND
Some shops accept USD. But they frequently use an exchange rate of 1USD to 15,000 VND....not as favourable.
Change USD to VND at the airport. The rate is about 15,800 VND.
Get hold of some VND before u take off.... available at your next door money changer

  • HOTEL
When making hotel reservations....ask if they have a lift....err...it's really important to us when we have extreme age groups in the team.
We stayed in New Paradise Hotel @ Yen Thai. Pretty good location. Dong Xuan market and the lake are all within walking distance. O yes!
The baguette and fried noodles for breakfast is yummy!
Stayed in a room with 2 single beds....not much walking space. Internet access is free at the ground floor....but the speed is....well, just tolerable >.<

Hanoi - Halong Bay

The wonder of God's creation!
Temperature hovered between 12-15 deg Cel!

Sailed out towards the limestone caves and spent one night on the Thai Bin Duong (it's a boat). And haha.....there's limited hot water for shower! We figured out later that 2 bunks must be sharing the same water tank. Grrrrr....some of us had to brave thru a cold shower.

The night was exciting. The crew tending the boat got real hyper fishing squids. Each catch was greeted with a triumphant yell!! Some squids must have measured about 20cm. After a reasonable harvest, the cooks on board steamed them without clearing the black ink that  ooozed out.....yuck...so I gave it a miss.

Bee-wo00-tee-fOo

* HE Makes All Things Beautiful In HIS Time *

This phrase hit me 3 times over today....all within a span of about 3hrs from 3 unrelated sources!

# 1 - my property agent prayed over me after completing our procedures at HDB
# 2 - written on b'day card from my ministry leader which i received 2 days ago but left unopened until i got home from the HDB appointment
# 3 - picked up a wrapper of one of my b'day gifts which i recycled...only after using it, I realised this phrase was printed on it!! Ne'er caught my eyes the 1st time i received it! Guess i was too excited ripping out my gift @-@! hahahaaa

Again....NOTHING happens by coincidence....only by divine appointment!

More than a new Toy

Got myself a Korg M3 two days ago (19feb)!!
The interface is A WHOLE LOT more intuitive than the Yamaha Motif XS.
The M3 also rendered higher sound fidelity when plugged into my Aego M speakers....compared to the XS. Though I really should be hooking them up to flat response monitor speakers.
You can also save customised prog/combi into lotsa user banks without having to overwrite any pre-delivered ones.....a great big +++ compared to the XS!

There's more to journey with it....but it's gotta be more than a momental hype.
DAD, it's dedicated to the extension of Your kingdom.
I need all Your wisdom to operate it effectively!

I'm just luurrrving it!

Synopsis

Pondered thru all the sms showering me birthday blessings today, think this message from BK about sums it all.

Most of them were along the theme of Eph3:20. Again the HS brought to remembrance that nothing is coincidental. It's all within DAD's divine plan.

CT quoted Ps16. New to me and clinging onto it! Expecting a new dispensation for His kingdom's extension

I Did it!

Cooked about 3kg of rice today! My 1st!
And it fed everyone at Ally's party.
Was really anxious when  i started and prayed for DAD to multiply whatever rice there was.
Wasn't experienced at all in estimating how much was enough.
Alas, DAD came thru! Timing and quantity all worked out pretty well ^_^

多 过 这 一 切

Desire U much more than serving U
Desire U much more than getting the chords right
Much more than getting the voicing right
Much more than perfecting the execution of sound effects

The sense of inadequacy is at times acutely painful
Yet U spoke of being my endless supply
I'm holding on....holding on....

Believe it!

End of Y2007, dear ol' Jen gave me a brand new DVD player and 2 days ago....she handed me a brand new popper toaster! Wow Jen! U sure take friendship to another level ^o.O^

DAD did tell me that in Y2008, I'm gonna experience Eph 3:20....and this is only the beginning of the overflow that is to come :)

He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that works in us!

Rise n er...not yawn

RC preached on the last Saturday in 2007. He briefly mentioned on doing QT in the morning instead of the night...waiting on DAD in the morning so that He could tell u what to watch out for as u walk the rest of the day.
Made alot of practical sense...I thought
So i decided to make that switch...

After SEVERAL failed attempts in battling with the zzzealots, the breakthru happened on 7Jan08!
It has been consistent since then and have been challenged to spend longer time in my morning devotion before i whizz off to work.
Continuing to subject my body to the Spirit!
From discipline to deLight!

We Meet Again...

Gosh! Project mate, what brought u home o.O?!
For the past 10 years or more....u could NEVER stay put!
Hah! You call it a coincidence that we met...and in the most uncanny place?!
I call it divine appointment ;)
It's probably my 4th time there at the Botannical Gardens...hehee...not exactly the place i hang out. And you would never imagine that this photo resembles ANY place in S'pore!

Mmmm....what happened to Kim? She's not her bubbly self?!
Well, the story shall unfold in time to come...

O-B-E-Y

Mark 10:49 Jesus stopped and said, "Call him."
v50 Throwing his cloak (to signify he's blindness) aside,
he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus
V51 "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him

PSP: U r where u r cuz u have not asked
ME: DAD, I ask of U to teach me immediate obedience...obedience without hesitation, obedience without doubt. I can no longer tahan delayed obedience!!! Don't wanna remain where I am!!

O Dorothy!

As I walked towards the shop, I found u heading my way.
I knew I could not let this moment pass.
We walked n talked about your impending surgery.
I waited for the opportune time at the kopitiam as u placed your order...

Sitting at the table, I asked if I could pray for u.
You smiled and gave me the green light.
Laying hands on your knees,
I prayed healing over you.
I know the gift of salvation is on its way!!

At Heidi Baker's

Your vision shall be strengthened,
Both physically and spiritually.
These eyes shall see the needs beyond the disguise, the facade.

No longer a turtledove offering,
This day I require of u a GREATER sacrifice.
Yet, I shall provide the sacrifice by My own hand.
