When in Karachi...

Keep your baggage tag sticker issued at the check-in counter within easy reach.....don't lose it! Airport security will check that your sticker is the same as that tagged to your physical luggage before u exit from airport. Wear track pants...not shorts....if u wanna work out in the gym. No one is in shorts or revealing attire!

Remember to lock your car door. It's not automatically locked.

The malls there are not exactly interesting.....and the carpets......their motifs are very similar from shop to shop.

The beach is quite a sight to behold....u could hardly make out where the horizon is.....I can't explain it.....beach and horizon is a murky blend. The tide was real low so u can walk very far out to sea.....don't expect clear blue water. There are camel rides too by the beach!

Pray Ps91....so even if you stay in Marriott, u'll be fine...heheee......2 days after I left Karachi, a bomb blast went off at the Marriott in Islamabab! DAD, heal this land!

Typhoon Sinlaku

Got up close and personal with Sinlaku.
Apparently, my flight out of Taipei at 2:20pm today was the last confirmed flight. Passengers from the next S'pore bound flight packed into the 2:20pm flight as well.
For a start, i was simply preoccupied with praying for myself to escape from being trapped in a typhoon in a foreign land. But after a while, I stopped in my tracks and started praying for the locals. Broadcasting over the news were farmers desperately trying to salvage their crops before the eye of the storm hits. The papers also reported how meat and vegetable prices will inflate after the typhoon.
Yet another reminder to quit this self-centered attitude of mine :o(
